The meeting began with a welcome and a review of the behavior statement. Attendees were reminded to use their NEU accounts for virtual meetings to ensure secure access to documents. The minutes from the previous meeting were ratified as a true reflection. The process for the Branch AGM elections of officers for 2024 was discussed, and it was confirmed that no nomination forms were missed or received after the deadline.

An overview of the STCPD pay increase of 5.5% was provided, along with updates on various polls and ballots. There was also a discussion on the implementation of the pay rise by the LA, which will be reflected in the December payment.

A report on a recent reps briefing in Leeds was given, highlighting topics such as snap polls, lighting fires, and bargaining strategies. Resources from the briefing were made available to all reps.

The meeting also included a brief overview of casework and a reminder to read the regional office guide for districts and branches. Attendees were reminded to check and respond to emails.

In the AOB section, an overview of a recent health and safety pilot was provided, and the new NEU Trafford community group and website were introduced, both receiving positive feedback.
