Cresta Court Statement

PUBLIC RELEASE - IMMEDIATE

In response to the deplorable scaremongering of the Hale Barns & Timperley South Conservative team social media account regarding the occupants of Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham:

• Infection rates for scabies have been a concern for health professionals across the country for some time, and are not linked to migrants

• The attempt to scapegoat those being housed at the hotel for any outbreak is cynical and designed to stir up division

• Any infection will be made worse by the overcrowding that often occurs in hotels run by Serco and rather than seeking to scapegoat those in hotels politicians of all parties should be focused on fixing the broken asylum processing system and ending the practice of private companies profiteering from the most desperate in society.
